The five ways to come up with a business idea

A good business idea solves a problem or provides value differently from other businesses.

Everyone has problems which they would gladly pay to be solved. Writing down your problems and finding solutions to these problems is the best way to come up with a business idea.

You can think of problems in your life and other people’s lives which you could solve and turn into a business. For example, some people don’t like painting so you could solve their problem by providing a painting service.

Are there no original ideas?

Expand on other people’s ideas and make them better.

It’s not bad to use other people’s ideas. Many successful businesses had ideas which were not their own.

It is unlikely you will have an original idea so you just need to perform better and add personality to your business to stand out and be different using someone else’s idea.
